"Elated"

My school asked me to create a piece to hang in the entrance to our new fine arts building on campus. I decided to go ahead with something for the series so I could gain practice with the new style. I chose this little boy because he is fun and fitting for a K-12 school!

"Determined"

Considering which expression to cover next, I decided it was time to address a more serious emotion. I bumped up the color intensity to match the severity of his expression. This one came together relatively easy. I only wish I had painted him bigger!

New Series: Expressions

My art teacher, Dan Thornhill, is always encouraging me to do paintings in a series. I started with the girl and decided to do a series in this different style of "Expressions". I'm really excited as I brainstorm for the next pieces!

Painting Paradise

I recently returned from the beach, and can't stop wishing to be back. I started to do a portrait on this canvas, but my mind took over and I painted abstractly from my memory of the beach.

Foodie

If there is one thing I love it is food! I can't let myself paint it too much or I get carried away, but here are a couple of loose food paintings I did.

1,2,3

Occasionally I remember to take pictures of the process as I work. Here are two work in progress paintings in 3 steps.

Summer Painting

I've spent a lot of quality time in the "Tiny House" studio painting this summer. I work all through the night sometimes before I realize I'm tired, but it's what I love doing. Here's some of my latest.

Orchids I did to hang in a local business

A self portrait-ish painting. Something fun and glamorous.

I decided to do a "Story Art" piece to represent aspects of my life. I plan to continue adding subtle details.
